24 June, 2010 -- Award-winning Brisbane-based software vendor Event Zero has launched the first Green IT solution tailored to the Chinese market.

Launching Greentrac into the Chinese market at a Beijing hosted event, Lloyd Ernst, Event Zero's Asia Director, highlighted a recent survey of 3400 Chinese computer users by Australian research firm Brand Management which found that more than 80 per cent of users did not turn off computers or monitors at night or during lunch breaks. "Data such as this shows us that the power saving, energy cost saving and CO2 reduction potential in China is enormous".

Greentrac has been localised to the Chinese market, with all interfaces translated by Event Zero partner SonarLogic, who also provides local sales and technical support for China based customers out of their Beijing office.

Greentrac already allows users to control their workstations remotely - the new release of Greentrac has new features that allow users to control their workstations from mobile phones, such as iPhones. iPhones and other mobile phones with location services loaded with Greentrac software can be configured to allow employees to start their workstations when they are within a specific distance, and then send shutdown alerts when users leave the area. Not only do these mobile features place Greentrac well ahead of the competition, but they play strongly into the Chinese user market where mobile internet access is pervasive.
